    Hey,

Today I tried to remove the dash to fix up some of the wiring and do a little gauge diagnostics since non of them work.....I removed all of the bolts that I could find on the front of the dash and also 2 that were under the dash on both the bottom of the left and right side and I still can't get the dash to budge :? I looked under the dash with a mirror and can't see where any more fasteners are?

    Any advice appeciated! TIA.

Mine is welded to the cowl so check for that.

Are the bolts that attach the steering column to the dash still attached?

Windshield needs to be let down also. Bolts on steering column need to be removed.

I do have the steering column bolts off and the windsheild is folded down, the dash feels real flimsy like its ready to off but there is definitely still something holding it into place, I couldn't tell if it was welded? by cowl do you mean welded along the top on the underside? If it is welded, how would I get it off anyway? It does seem that its the top thats keeping it in there, I pryed on it a little bit but I don't want to bend it in the process. Does it require some force to get out?

Thanks for the fast replies! :)

Heater cables or choke or throttle cables holding it in maybe?

I can see the welds on mine. They are on the top front of the dash. Could it be rust and friction holding it on?

Well I'm pretty sure its not the any of the cables, If it was I think it would be resisting in just the area where the cables are plus it will actually bend out quit a bit when I pull on it but it seems almost locked in to place all along the top where I removed the other bolts, almost like there are more bolts but there isn't.... there is a bunch of yellow adhesive and some other type of tar like stuff that was between the windsheild and the dash, I tried using a spackle knife to run under the edge of the dash thinking the adhesive might be the culprit but its still stuck, maybe it is just stuck from age, well I do a little more investigating under there tomorrow before I try to pry it off, everything thats connected to the dash has enough play to at least get the dash completely loose, I have the front roll bar also so all I really want to do is lower it and tilt it forward a little so I can get back there easier.

Thanks for the ideas, I can't believe its this hard. I'll try more tomorrow.

Thats what it sounds like. May just be able to take a rubber mallat and hitting the bottom side of the dash to knock it loose.

did you remove or loosen the lower windsheild mounting hooks? check the parking brake bracket and door limiting hooks (if so equipped).

Well I finally got if off, it was definitely the lower winsheild mounting hooks, I took those off and tapped it from the bottom with a rubber mallet and it came loose, Since I have the front roll bar I could barley move the dash enough to get behind it but I think I have enough room to repair some of the wiring thats messed up.

    Thanks for the advice guys!
