'66 Dauntless Trans Issue

    I've been lurking here for a while, but this is my first post. I'm thinking of buying a '66 CJ5 from a friend. The Jeep hasn't been on the road in a couple of years. The V6 runs well, the thing is complete, including a steel hardtop, but the trans is shot. T-86 has a rotten first and reverse, and the gears are chewed up pretty bad (beyond repair IMO). So what are my chances of finding a replacement T-86? One more thing, the owners seems to have lost the crossmember for the tranny too...

    There's been some crossmembers FS in the classifieds.

    You can prolly find a T86 here easily or at least T90 internals that will swap into it.
