Do certain saginaw boxes have more limited internal stops ?
I have a really short pitman arm and my box stops at its internal stops before I reach maximum turning. (This limits my turning radius.) Is there another box that may have no internal stops or more generous stops?

The axle has stops that are adjustable, but I'm not reaching those.
I'm running 33's and have a bit more turning travel available (if it weren't for the internal stops).

    Any help appreciated...

    Anybody ?
I guess I'll have to go to the salvage yard and try another box.

I do not know about internal stops

But I have had the same prob with a short pitman arm

I just got a longer arm

Different box might be easier and cheaper

I think that a slightly longer pitman arm would be a whole lot easier than messing with the innards of the steering box. You should have not trouble finding one you like in the local u-pull-it or FLAPS.

My problem is that my Pitman arm barely clears my drag link now. This is caused by poor planning on my part in the placement of my steeering box. SO, If I can find a box with no stops or more "generous" stops, my turning radius would be restored. OTHERWISE, I'll have to move the box, lengthen the steering shaft, and go with a longer pitman arm. (costly and a big pain in the arse)
