    Mike and Brian put forth a valiant effort to try and make these things work yesterday, unforutnately it was in vain. :(

    Guess I'll spring for a pair of the Warn premiums. However if anyone has or knows of a good working pair of Selectros, I'd be interested in relieveing you of them. I've really taken a liking to those big ol' knobs. 8)

    Initially they were frozen, Brian figured out that they were re-assembled wrong as they were on the Jeep. We got them assembled right, and they turn ~ 90 degrees but just weren't engaging.

    I almost wonder if there were parts missing - there was no snap ring on the end of the axle, etc.

    The ring that has ramps to "engage" the axle was cracked. It went back together allright, but like Mike said. They just didn't want to engage the wheels. They did turn Just shy of 90* it seemed.

    Looked like the way they were put back together before us parts got bent and smooshed inside:(

    I don't know, maybe someone else knows a little more about them than we did.

    There were 6 little phillips screws on the "knob" that went into the ramp part. there where 3 sets of 2 screws. The inner screws turned in a groove in the main part of the lockout, and the other 3 outer screws went into a hole in the ramp that made it turn with the knob. whoever put it back together before didn't get the outer holes lined up right and basicly clamped down the ramp to the hub.

    They were made by Wienand/Bestop up until late 80's.
    I have a set for Toyota. Some of the internal parts are interchangeable.
    If you are interested I would give them to you for shipping cost.

    i have a pair of those on the 1970 cj-5,dont know which one i like best my warn hubs take spells where they are hard to lock in,and haven fooled with these enough to know if i will like them:rofl:

    I've also got a set of those warn hubs on my 66. They are a little finnicky sometimes, seem to be really fussy about how tight the little screw that holds the handle part that you turn to engage the hub.

    Got my Warns put on today. They seem to engage and disengage okay, and should work out great! Having to turn the dial nearly 360* as opposed to 45* like the newer ones takes a little getting used to though. Oh yeah, I didn't notice it when I was installing them but I actually ended up with a "Warn Lock-O-Matic" on one side and a "Cornbinder" on the other! R)
