Last weekend I put 1.5 qts of 90 weight into my transmission. It was still leaking when I checked it so it still had something in it.

If it were me and I were storing it I'd fill it to the brim with whatever I had that was compatable and cheep. Your just storing it and wanting to keep condensation at a minimum. I'd put 90 wt in the T90 and 18 and engine oil in the 134. I would consider putting marvels in the cylinders.

I glanced around for Marvels at Autozone, didn't see it. Might have been looking in the wrong place. Any idea on a better source?

I'd look for fogging oil for the cylinders. Should be available at any good hardware store, or even the local NAPA.

The T90 and D18 should take 80W-90. Fill it up to the appropriate level and then just rotate the input shaft every week or so to keep everything lubed 8)

Engine takes 5 qts. with filter, tranny and t-case take just under 2 qts. each, 80/90 is a good choice for gear oil.

JD7 was referring to Marvel Mystery Oil. They usually have it near the additives section. It used to come in a square metal can however it now is usually found in a red squarish quart bottle. you can also get in gallons sometimes. This is great stuff and it really can work some magic at times. I found out about it years ago when I bought my 2A. The rings were stuck so it had low compression. I was given a tip to put marvel in the cylinders and let it soak. Worked great. It has a real sweet smell to it. It can be used as a oil or fuel additive. I've heard that when it is used a fuel additive it leaves behind a oily residue wehn burned. This helps lubricate the valves and helps prevent lead build up. (not a problem with todays cars) I use it in the fuel in my cessna on a regualr basis. Most private plane owners add this stuff to thier fuel since avgas has LOTS of lead in it.

Out here in New mexico, I've check several place for Marvel Mystery oil and found that Wal-Mart has it cheaper than Autozone or Kragen/Checker Auto Parts. Its almost $1 cheaper in the 32oz size!!!!
