While checking the adjustment on my clutch linkage I found that the pivot ball mount on the bellhousing (74 CJ5-258/t18/d20) was broken. I must have done something wrong on the install of the trans to bellhousing. My T18 has no tag attached and has the PTO port on the left side. As far as I know, the trans came from a FSJ and I was told it was set up for a CJ (input shaft ect and trans came with the bellhousing attached). Has anyone else had this problem? This is my first trans swap. I will look for a T150 bellhousing to replace the one with the broken casting. The bellhousing that came with the trans was modified by the PO to fit the trans.
I am also concerned about the angle difference between the yoke on the tcase and the rear axle (D44), will shimming the crossmember down help?

A T-150 bell housing will require you to drill one hole to mount the FSJ T-18 to it. Easy enough to do. Just mount the new bell housing to the tranny using the 3 good holes. Then mark the 4th and drill it out. (I am running the exact same setup you are. :) )

As far as the driveshaft angle, with 4.5+ inches of lift I rotated my rear spring pads to point the pinion up and switched over to a custom built CV style drive-shaft.

Hmmm. Not looking forward to pulling that heavy mess out again. I will go with a CV drive shaft, not sure what size lift to go with at this point, probably no more that 2.5".
