I have to ask this because the CJ had no mounts up front except one but the hat channel was barely there and that had a nut and bolt through it.
How is the body bolted down to the frame mounts in the front? Do bolts go though the channel? How are they held in?

Hey John - Good to see you around again.

I just rebuilt/replaced all the body mounts on SSDutch. There are some pics that should help you towards the end of this page.

Just ignore the ones in the middle...;)

Thanks. But how did you access the bolt heads on the mounts?

The front ones just have the bolts running through from the top - so the bolt heads are on the floor by your feet. Did someone "fix" your floor and cover them?

Ahh, ok. Didn't know if that was the factory way or not. I had only one floor mount in the front but the channel was rotted enough that they reached in with a wrench and just bolted the channel to the mount.
So on the new channel, the little pipes welded in are where the bolts will pass though?

I think what you're talking about are called "crush sleeves". I know WO installs them as part of their RepliTub process, not sure if other replacement hat channels have them.

I got mine from Classic Enterprises. I just didn't know if they used an AMC maneuver of putting nuts in the channel.
