Wish it had some more photos but your right Doug haven’t seen one of those tops forever doesn’t seem like a bad buy if it’s not rusting to pieces

Axles and transfer case should be worth that right?

IMG_6427.jpeg IMG_6435.jpeg Tru -Scale made really awesome toy Scouts back in the 60’s. I was fortunate to find a complete one with full and half top, doors, and plow blade.

I have seen an early Scout with that “fastback” top, but always assumed it was an aftermarket piece. I’ll have to find some vintage brochures before I fully change my mind.
Are there retractible rear side quarter windows? I see a narrow filler panel by the top of the tailgate. That top is unusual!

if it has scout 2 axles and transfer case, especially if it's a texas pattern 300, thats a good deal especially with that top.

    67 would not have 44s and a D300. The texas D300 was a one year only thing, 1980. I bet it is a D20 and a D44 rear and D30 front. Could be D27s if it is a 67.

Scout Sportop was factory, just uncommon. Great price.

Axles could have been swapped. But I doubt if it has a D300 if it still has the stock 4 cyl.

I was never a fan of those tops. It's like they tried and couldn't. I much prefer the standard top. I'm with Nate on the axles and t-case.

Good price if it's not rusty but I'd have to lose the 4 banger. Scouts are heavy IMO. The 4 cylinder doesn't do it for me. Mine had a 266 V8 and it was okay. My friend dropped a later IH 304 in his and it was way better. He had a 345 waiting in the wings but we stopped hanging around so I have no idea if it ever went in. I'd say this one would be a good starting point for a cool build.

I think the 345 would be quite nice. The 1210 is heavy but it still moved decent with the 345 imo. Would probably be nice in a scout.

    Cornbinder of course.
Customer pulled a large trailer of some kind.
And fuel mileage was of no concern to him in 1973.
I remember it took a while to order and receive the 392 from IH.

345 and 392 are taller deck engines. Same basic architecture, but taller/wider.
