If you worry about the paint chips from the bolts, I expect you could buff off the paint on the bolt platforms with a wire brush in your drill. Just a thought.

 

Yes, found a little round brush that will chuck up to my 1/2'' drill. Have not tried it yet but I think it will work. The bolt holes are all down in a shallow recess where they cannot simply be brushed. I also will need to clean the top surface of the rocker pivot towers. The paint on them might comprise the torque value if left under there.
