Just received this this week and set it up. Does mig and tig, spool gun ready etc. Has pulsed mig and tig.

this was some 1/4” garbage. Seems pretty good for this very basic stuff using the auto setting. You dial in the wire thickness, shielding gas, weld process and metal thickness… pull trigger and weld.

The arc is a lot quieter than my miller 220mp machine. It doesn’t feel like you’re welding at all. I haven’t used it to tig weld anything yet. This machine has no dedicated inputs for it, just dangling plugs that go off the lugs for the different polarity. Machine is heavy..

the gun is not the toy like feeling one of the miller and more like the Bernard one on my old ESAB/airco, but modern.

I hope this machine can burn in some 1/2 plate a bit better than the miller.. gonna find out.

    Sweet machine!

Every “auto” setting I’ve ever used, the wire speed was way too fast in relation to the heat. The beginning of the weld in that last pic shows a little of that, how it’s a bit bulbous and the edges don’t flow into the base metal. The wire speed was forcing you to go faster than the heat was allowing. Take note of the settings it wants to put you at, then try turning the wire speed down 15-20% just for poos and giggles.

Usually when I get a Tig weld that nice, it's right beside where I really wanted it.
    Nice looking welds.

Well, I have to put my 1992 Systematics (Snap-on) mig welder here~ I bought it for 300 bucks with a bottle in 2010. It's terribly heavy, but it has wheels! lol I can't imagine having too many buttons, mine is about as simple as they come. Funny, it shows a tig function, but never got around to it. I don't think my husband would allow for me to buy a high dollar unit, but 47v6, I Love your machine!! :D
    dne'

It was under Harvey flood waters for 2 weeks, sat in a storage for a year. It's not the AC recycling machine hanging,, the welder is under water. I recently welded 2 8' 1/4 steel ramps, welded non-stop;) It was a lot of welding

Replaced a few relays, cleaned it, repainted it and works great!

I ain't a welder but I welded some and I'll do the weldin' til the welder DOES come.

Install any profession you like in place of "welder" in this old saying.

Thats a nice machine there Chris. I don't think I've ever made a weld that nice. But that's due to my skill level for sure.

That’s really my issue I think. My ESAB/aireco machine had manual settings and I could do just that. I will try that on my next set up coupons..

The whole pulse thing is weird. I bet it would work well with thinner metals. Sounds like an angry bee.

    Nice looking machine.

Now that I'm retired, I don't think I could justify a rig that big anymore. Guess I'll just stick with my separate use boxes for now.
