I am about reading to start reassembling the 2A. Does anyone know about how thick the strips that go between the tank and the floor are? I figure I will just dig around and used some innertube or strips off the Amazon. Thanks

Those strips are just anti-rattle strips. They were felt strips about 1/16" thick and about 1 to 1 1/2 inches wide.
I re-used what the PO had put under there and also used some rubber strips I had from the bottom of a garage door.

Just to keep metal from metal and keep moisture from staying in there.

Serpentine belt is a good material, likely oil and gas resistant.

I used fire hose strips. The outside of the hose has grooves, in my mind to help with moisture evap. Not that I've ever had that much water in my tub.

I used broken rubber bungies. IME not thickness critical. I'd imagine non-absorbent is better. Whatever traps the least water.

While the serpentine belt sounds tempting with the grooves, in practice I'm sure all those grove recesses will be clogged up with dust/dirt and actually hold water longer than a narrow solid strip. I like the bungie cord idea. If one wants to spend a little more money, McMaster-Carr has some adhesive backed strips of polyurethane that would work well for this if the floor is clean enough for the adhesive to seal well. The best solution is to put the tank in the rear and not have to worry about this.
