Since my brother’s welder went away, and I have to repair the tub for my project…

Time will tell if it holds up or drops dead, I guess. For my needs, it should be fine. Your mileage may, of course, vary significantly.

I have two friends (hard to believe) with the same brand welder. The welders have held up well, weld quality depends on IF the monkey does his part. Ron

It’s taking time to get used to the way it runs…

When pulling the ‘trigger’, I hear the gas start, then the arc comes. When releasing it, the arc ceases, and gas continues for a bit.

I’ve started on the passenger side of the floor in my tub. The actual welding is going well. It’s plugged into a 230V outlet, though it will run on 115V.

    I should mention:

I consulted with @ITLKSEZ about TIG vs. MIG welding, since he has “mad skillz” with TIG machine. His suggestion was to go with wire-feed for everyday use.

My brother will likely be selling his Lincoln TIG200 machine, so I was considering that.

I think this machine will do what I need.

If I could afford to buy - and operate - that, I’d be able to hire someone to build a Jeep!!

I have the little 115v wire feed Titanium welder. Got it 5 years ago and it’s been great. I use it all the time.

I’ve got the Titanium Flux core welder. As long as I do my part, it does the rest. Just gotta make sure to use GOOD wire with it (I use Hobart, but Lincoln also works good) the cheap crap it comes with SUCKS…… I’ve run several spools through mine around the house doing various jobs.
