Hi everyone, my 1958 CJ has been butchered a bit in the engine bay and the fenders, grille, grille shroud are all loose. As far as I can tell, a fender is fastened with three bolts to the firewall and two bolts on the front attached to the grill shroud? is that it? or is there also supposed to be a bolt down the fender bolting it to the frame? Is the front grill and the shroud behind it one piece? because my grill is separate from that part.
    Thanks for your help!

There should be 4 bolts on each fender to the cowl. Then 3 bolts from each fender to the grill/radiator support. The grill/radiator
support bolts to the frame cross member with one bolt and rubber mounts. There should be a support bar on fastened on each side
of the inside upper radiator support back to the upper cowl. The entire front end floats so to speak on the one front support.
    Hope this helps. John

Those grill bolts have slots so not all the bolts have to be taken out to remove the grill. Only some of the M38a-1 Jeeps had the mid-underfender brace running down to fasten to the frame, but the threaded bolt holes are probably on your frame.
