Dana 20 Help

I have a flat fender project that has a lot of CJ5 parts on it. One is the Dana 20 transfer case. I see a tab on the passenger side of the case with 2 holes in it. Is this for a mount? I can’t seem to find a picture of one installed so I can see what it is for or if it is a mount, how it should be mounted. If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.

It is for a mount but not for your application.The D20 is a "straight through" transfercase.
Unlike the D18, which has a pad on the passenger side to help with torque movement,
the 20 uses a small torque pad under the t case to dampen additional torque.

 

I think at one time and only one or two applications that was used for an exhaust hangar mount ?
Maybe ?
Jeep ? Scout ?
???

That is used as a mounting point on my 1970 J/C101

 

Note that OzFin’s Commando D20 transfer case uses the short driveshaft double-cardin and support bearing and clamp for the front driveshaft.
