I thought I saw a thread on one of the jeep sites about snowplows recently but can't find it now. Was going to post my question there but.....

So, does anyone have any information on the Meyers V plow set ups for the CJ5? Most particularly the width and height. I'd love to find one but need to know more about what I should be looking for.

    Thanks.

The top right picture caption seems to indicate 60", 72" and 88". Hmmm.

The 72" sounds most right for a cj5 to me. 60" seems too narrow and 88" seems wide which equals heavier....maybe best suited for a truck.

Thanks Joe. Anyone else got anything feel free to add it. Height. Pictures. Anything will help.

Floatin around the interweb, I landed at eWillys. Found some good stuff there from pictures of an old Meyers brochure. For comparison sake I submit the following:

Standard 72" cj5 plow blade, model ST-72 weighs in at 445 pounds.
V-60, at 60" wide (narrower than an ecj5) weighs in at 475 pounds
V-72, at 72" wide (ecj5 overall width listed at 71 3/4") weighs in at 550 pounds

Looks like the V-72 would be right but beating the standard plow blade by 105 pounds, I wonder if the Meyers Electro-lift would handle it.

It IS noted that the V blades have some sort of 'swivel mount to relieve the weight from the from of the jeep.' I have yet to find any pictures of this part. Sounds like you'd drive into it and just push it around rather than lift it and carry it. In respect to weight the V-60 would be the winner weighing just 30 pounds more than a standard 72" blade and could likely be lifted and carried by the plow cylinder.

A 72" V blade may be available to me but I do not know if it's a Meyers or some other brand. I'd prefer it be a Meyers to match all my other plow accessories but I may have make an imposter out of it..... if it lands here.

All this being said, I hope I don't need to use it before I retire.

I also really dig the snow blowers. One of those would require a jeep dedicated to the task as removing all that equipment and reinstalling seems like it would be serious task that I just am not into at this point.

Looking at the pictures, I wonder if anyone reproduces those old Meyers stickers/decals and all the information stickers on the back of the blade.

I think you'll be fine with a 550lb plow. Just use lift for a full size truck. I wouldn't go crazy with a front winch or ag weight though. Otherwise no different than a straight blade and winch.

That width has to be with mirror and side mount spare.

That's what I was thinking also, Joe. Overall width. They tub is 60ish as stated. I guess they figured that if your plowing with a V you might be in some deep shat.
