I thought I would start a new thread. First some background. I built this Jeep for my dad to take to a weekly local Friday night car show that he goes to. From 10 feet it looks completely bone stock. I threw every cool part at it that I had. Even threw a bunch of nos parts into the Ross Steering.
The specs: 1954 Cj3b F-head, t98, 18, overdrive, rear pto gearbox. Front dana 30 with trutrac. Rear offset flanged 44 with powerlock. 4.88 gears, 11" drums with dualpot master, and all four axles chromo. 8274 up front.
So that brings us to being tired of rebuilding carbs. For some reason I kept having float issues as in a totally random sticking float.
I have been wanting to throw FI on my primary Jeep for years. Just have not been willing to fix something that wasnt broke. So onto this project.
The flange is a direct fit. I had to space it up to give clearance for the throttle linkage and to get the valve cover off. Temp sender is simple. O2 sensor is just a bung on the downpipe. I grabbed a new fuel tank to install an in-gank pump and a return line. Simple AN-6 fuel lines. Wiring is power and ground to the battery. Ignition hot and negative coil wire for rpm.
I just got it fired up tonight. Have not driven it yet. I wil, try to figure out the picture magic too.

I have built a dozen or more whole Jeeps for what I spent on this project. I would definitely put this behind buying a winch, top, tires, lockers and an overdrive. If you have all those things and still have money to burn this may be your next project.

What was the grand total in dollars?

This has solved your float issues and it runs fine now?

I'm a little disheartened by your comment about this being the last thing you would do.

Runs great. This really is a simple installation. The throttle linkage was the only thing that actually had to be fabricated from scratch. Motor seems more responsive at the top end. Might have actually added a few mph at the top as the fuel air mixture is as good as it can get. Total was right about $1500 all in. The wife informed me that this is now another "forever" Jeep so there won't be any return on a sale. This really is one the most enjoyable driving Jeeps that I have ever had. Next up is a Newgren 3 point hitch for the back. Running out of cool parts to bolt on.

To be clear, all pics I posted here belong to Daryl, and it's his project, I only posted pics for him, that I received from him.

If you're not using it to control ignition, it's not going to care, but if it's anything like the 4bbl system I've done, there's a setting in the software to tell it that it's getting a 4cyl tach signal. It's not sequential injection, the injector pulses don't need to be all that precise.

In the initial setup, you tell it the size of motor and number of cylinders. It is supposed to learn the rest while driving. If you want to come drive it, let me know.
