I've been looking for a 1969-'71 V6 gas pedal linkage for the past 6 weeks or so, and finally found one yesterday at Ironman Restorations, a vintage Jeep parts yard in Pickens, SC. I just wanted to let everyone know about it in case they're in the general area.

Here's a "Victory Is Mine!" shot of the linkage I picked up, with the owner of Ironman, David James, on the right:

This was the second time I've visited Ironman, the first time being about 5 years ago. It's located in a rural area of upstate South Carolina a couple of hours or so from where I live. I think it has to be among the largest vintage-Jeep-specific parts yards in the country. The wooded area is over 80 acres, with literally hundreds of 1940s-'80s Jeeps scattered through it. It's kind of surreal to see such a vast number of old Jeeps peeking out between the trees as far as the eye can see.

Here's a link to a 2018 writeup I sent to eWillys about the history of Ironman Restorations, with some pictures taken during my first visit:

If you want to pay a visit to Ironman, it would be best to give them a call at (864) 878-2903 beforehand to let them know you're coming, and what you're looking for. They have a lot going on, but David and his dad, Doc, were very kind, and spent a good half an hour helping me find the part I needed.

I’ll have to visit them. Both my brothers live in Easley, SC, only a few minutes from Pickens. I’ll likely be through there next week, before Thanksgiving.

Hey Donny, let me know if you get up near Asheville again during your trip. I missed you when you came through a few years ago during that car rally, but thoroughly enjoyed meeting you in the Keys and getting to see some of your Jeeps last year. I’d love to get to show you mine if the opportunity arises! - Maury

I was on a singular mission on that particular visit, though I freely admit there were many other parts I saw and lusted after in my heart....

Are you going to be anywhere near New Bern? Rust Ranger has a seat for me that I have been trying to get there to pick up.

Here's one of the more interesting Jeeps I saw at Ironman on Friday - a 1971 Renegade II. David said only about 200 of these were made - maybe he meant in this color? - and that this one was unfortunately driven by its previous owner at speed over a large log, which trashed it pretty thoroughly (though it looks to be restorable).
