    For some reason it seems that lots of guys preferred the Delco Remys.
    Probably because DR was a GM product ???
    Is is very likely that many were swapped around.
    It is also possible that Jeep was using whatever they had on hand during assembly.
    The time proven and compact Prestolite IAT was a very old design dating way back to earlier days of Autolite.
    Unless I am giving an opinion….

    I have virtually every civilian Jeep book from 1945 through 1975.
