    Hey y’all,

got a ‘72 cj5 with an aftermarket steering column it looks like. The pedal stop on the steering column was attached with hose clamps by some previous owner. I had the steering column and dash out recently, and am now putting everything back together.

Can’t figure out for the life of me where the pedal return spring attaches…. There’s an hole in the pedal arm but don’t know where it goes on the other end. Anyone have any photos of theirs? Attached photos r what I’m working with.

    thanks y’all

The brake lever appears to have a custom bend in it. I have the same peddle set up and welded a stop across the U-shaped portion of the
pedal bracket. Modified the length of the push rod for my needs. I have no brake return spring and it works fine. My column is from a 1975
Chevy Monza. Hope this helps. Also, there is a bracket for the stop light switch. If you need a picture, let me know.

my stop light switch appears to be a pressure switch on a brake line… Guess I’m workin with a custom setup like you said. Mine definitely needs a return spring, tried testing pedal feel without it. Thanks for the response.
