Working on the parking brakes now and have a choice between an original style pull handle or converting to a foot style lever off of a later Jeep.

I would like to stay with the pull handle, but it seems that it would be in the way of getting in and out of the Jeep when pulled.

Is this really the case and any suggestions on a location?

I've bumped mine a few times when climbing in but not regularly. it should not need to be pulled very far and typically it is well above your feet. it is comparable to the headlight switch in my wife's truck where a knee is shin twists the knob or handle just a little.

Here’s how the pull handle on my ‘70 is set up. It’s tucked under the dash pretty well.

If the cane pull is adjusted anywhere near to spec, the stock handle pull might be just outside the dashboard, not enough to snag getting in or out.

I've kicked mine plenty of times. Honestly. it's not a great location, but there's nowhere else you could mount it with the V6 engine.

The only gripe I have about it is that you cant pull it real hard in that location unless you 2 hand it. Only really nessesary if its weak and out of adjustment.
