My '61 has a good running F-135 and 4.27 gears and original T 90 tranny. I am considering new tires and would like to go to something around 32' tall. I currently have 29" tires and am happy with the power. My main concern is if I go to taller tires I may have a hard time taking off. As far as trails, I think I will be fine because I have terra Low Gears in the transfer case. Are any of you guys running taller tires with the F-134 and 4.27 gears and if so, how is it on the street ?

convert the t-90a to a t-90c if you have any issues. Check that you don't already have one now.

Your 1st gear is the same as mine was when i ran a f-134 with t90a and 5.38s, your more likely to run out of steam on the top-end. My o/d and 5.38s put me in a unusable 4.10 final on the highway.

What size are the tires you have on there?

My main concern is taking off on an incline without smoking the clutch.
