Thought I might try this. Since I have already put in an oxygen sensor for the fitech, it's just a matter of the carb plate some hoses and a couple of wires. set the tune according to instructions.

I wonder what all it can adjust? most carb adjustments usually require turning of screws or changing out parts.

" It just seems silly to remove the perfectly good factory computer carbs for non computer carbs that are then halfass convertered to computer carbs with this kit IMO.

The carb cheater is pretty much an external version of the idle air bypass found in many Qjets which is pretty much a controlled vacuum leak"

The takeaway by a few engine performance guys.......

I saw this and was waiting for a follow up video. A controlled vacuum leak done better. It can fix a rich condition but what about a lean condition?
Is the air filtered in any way? It would help in getting some older vehicles through a tailpipe sniff test if it is not noticed. The gestapo have been
crawling over my old Nissan pretty hard lately when going to test.

    Looking into the filter question.

It can fix a rich condition but what about a lean condition?
This is accomplished by setting the initial setup, the computer box has you tune the adj screws until a specific value is reached. ( according to the O2 sensor) so when it adds air you lean out and when it reduce air it goes rich. It's a small window of operation gut it works.

This one of the few positives about my Antique Plate, .... no more inspections:bananatool:

The reason I went to FiTech was because I wanted better mileage. When the Jeep was new 1978 it had a 2BBL manifold and a Motorcraft 2100 carb and it got 15mpg most of the time. When I put a 360 4bbl and a Holley 600 on it, I got 10. The FiTech got 15mpg on my first tank. then dropped to 13. I think I started to get an exhaust leak, but before I could address that issue. is started dying on me everywhere, taking hours for a 20 minute trip.

The guy doing this carb cheater hasn't mentioned mpg.

BTW to SIDSCJ It just seems silly to remove the perfectly good factory computer carbs for non computer carbs
That is not the purpose of Carb Cheater. It is designed for older cars that already have a standard carburetor. It's purpose is to help keep the engine at peak efficiency in varying atmospheric conditions. Or within it's ability to adjust.
