I'm looking for a period correct electric winch for my 1960 cj5, something that would have been out by the mid 60s preferably, I know of course the belleview/warn 5687 line came out around 59, but are there any other options?

I have a old Koenig 12 volt electric winch. It’s similar to the typical Koenig model 100 pto winches.
Also an old Ramsey that looks very similar to the Bellview/ Warn winches. It’s called a Ramsey DC-9.
I’ll see if I have any pics.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm familiar with the sidewinder but I've never seen a date mentioned for them. Figured they were a 70s thing.

Oldtime , I'd love to know what the Koenig is, I haven't been able to find anything early electrical from them, pto, crank driven and hydraulic but nothing electrical.

Gimme a little time and I’ll dig up some info on these old winches. I just bought an 8274-50; my first one ever. I definitely need to sell either my DC-9 or the electric Koenig because I have 5 different winches and only 3 Jeeps to put them on.
Best I recall the Hickey sidewinders became popular about the mid 1970’s.

This is an old ramsey I have. It is identical to my PTO winches, just has an electric drive on it.

Douglas changed their DC-9 to the MD-80 just to avoid confusion with Ramsey. haha. Sorry. Aviation humor is terminal.

    Some cool info here, thanks!
I'd love to add a period correct winch to my Wagon but have never seen it done while retaining the original splash pan and bumper. Any pics out there?
Only remedy i can come up with is adding a tow receiver to the front.

Thank you for all the pics, if you decide to sell that koenig give me a shout, thou I'm sure shipping it would be a hassle. It's definitely cool, looks like the adapted a pto winch to try to compete in the electric market.

Yes many of the Koenig 100 Ekectric Winch parts are a direct interchange with their model 100 pto winches.
So likewise it’s rated at 8000 pounds.
If your not in a hurry someone will be headed back your way from the fall Willys Reunion.
I’d just have to go through my receipts and see what I paid for it.
