Is It A Commando Dana 20?

Forgive me if this is such an obvious answer. I bought my CJ5 a few weeks ago. The original engine, trans and tcase were swapped out at some point. It now has a dauntless/t14/d20. I can not “find” 4lo. I popped the boot off and after looking at the linkage I think it is a commando case. Only the right shaft moves. I have tried finding a spot where the stick would move to the right after reading about a j shift pattern but did not find a point where the shifter would move to the side.

In one of the pictures you can see the color change in the right shaft showing how far it moves.

the shifter if I pull all the way back actually hits the floor/tub.

can anyone confirm what I have by looking at these pictures? And any way of knowing what the pattern is/should be?

If it is a commando box any advantage or disadvantage of this over the other d20 units?

It looks like what I have in my JC. 2H is left & forward, straight back for 4H, then to the right & forward for 4L.
The J shifters are notorious for being balky, I have to use my foot to shift mine. I plan to convert to an aftermarket twin stick shifter.

 

That is my plan is to just get the twin sticks. The shifter feels horrible.

 

Thank you gentlemen. I opened up the hole and was able to get it shifting. 100% j pattern.

 

Definitely D20 out of a Jeepster due to both the J-shifter, and the double-cardin front driveshaft with the extension support.
