Definitely a wider, taller tire in the back. You need to put the mini tubs to use! You may need to find a baseball bat to roll the outer fenders for some more space.

it's crossed my mind, I'd need rear wheels with a little deeper offset? For now, the used wheels will be useful to roll it around when that day comes.

Removed it from the rotisserie for now. Need to figure out what to do about the firewall to accomodate the distributor.

One fella on the ForAbodies said I could cut down the new engine supports which may give me more room for the wiper motor area. That's one of the reasons for lowering down to work on this. Just having fun

I looked at one one at the car show yesterday. It had the slant six and two carbs. Very tight
engine compartment. Sorry, no pictures...forgot phone as usual.

Weekend report;) Gary n I and even our dog, Chewie, drove to Corpus Christy to buy the parts below. Mainly I wanted the first two items, headlight bezels and tail lights as those two are incredibly hard to find and if one finds them, they're very expensive. I paid 400 for this stuff which I thought was a pretty good deal. The seller had a 4 door '63 Dart, he just had these parts lingering. So, a few more items out of the way;)

If one can find the tail lens, they're downright costly!

I bought the engine which was in the same doner car, however I'm incredibly sad that they didn't have the bell housing nor manual transmission! I really wanted the bell housing so I could adapt it to my engine run stand. However, when I find a bell housing, I'll hopefully get the engine running. It's quite "clean" and looks maybe to have been overhauled.

The edelbrock intake was/is a factory thing I guess. someone put an adapter to use an edelbrock carburetor. The intake would have taken a Thermoquad, or some type of spreabore carburetor.

    The other engine:
So, you can imagine what Gary might have been saying about the other engine? and what am I going to do with the "other" elephant in the room engine? I'm going to put it back together :bananatool: but first I might go ahead and perform leak down test on each cylinder, should be easy with the intake and exhaust manifolds off. I cleaned (media blasted) the heavier than heck stock intake manifold, at least it will look good, then wet blast the engine , all n all, get it running on my stand (if I ever find a bell housing), try to get back a few dollars on it. It's a really nasty engine. It's actually just something to do which I consider "fun" or something to occupy my time even though the days are passing so quickly; something wrong with the space time continuum?

Finding that A 833 "4" speed transmission is rather a pain, plus requiring the linkage to go with it, not to mention again the bell housing:( oh, that's right, I've nothing but time on my hands

Hi friends;) not much going on, but got my new to me, brake/clutch pedal assembly~ you know, converting from auto to manual. Also, found a bell housing on ebay, so, that will be here some day. Then I can put the newest engine on my engine run stand :D. Keeping my eye out for an A-833 manual transmission for an A body;) The engine already has the clutch plate.

HI~~ I wanted to remove the rear axle, but as we all know, diffs are a pain to move around, so I made a stand out of some leftover metal.

Then a rather large jet passed overhead~ I've zoomed in, not quite as large as the pic;) About this time of day, I think we're in or close to a flight path;)

FYI you don't need that thick carb adapter, just one of these-it's a thin steel plate with 2 gaskets.

I like this Alpine diesel green so much, I decided to use it on suspension and underneath parts.

Ahhh, good old Alpine Green. We used to go through gallons and gallons of that stuff when I worked for Detroit Diesel

I'm happy to have installed the 318 on my engine run stand, took a little fabricating, and the bell housing that I had purchased off of Ebay;) Now just clean up, find some hoses, wire the thing up. Now I'm set up for sbf and sbm!
I'm unfamiliar with how to prime the engine (oil) on the mopar. The Ford, you just put a 5/16 socket on the drive to the oil pump and away you go, but this is different? any ideas? ;)
one more question~ though the engine looks to have been refreshed somewhere in time, apart from priming the oil pump, should I pull the spark plugs and squirt some marvel mystery oil in each cylinder?
ok, taking my brother for his other lens replacment in his eye~ I'm so jealous!

No idea on driving the pump. Pull the distributor and see what you have to work with?
