Location Of Vin Plate

    Could someone give me measurements for the location of the vinyl plate? I replaced the tub and over the past 5 years I have forgotten.

    What year? In our '58 we reinstalled ours on the firewall next to the drivers side radiator support bracket.

    FWIW there were no VIN plates prior to January 1st 1969. Prior to then, “serial number plates” were used.

    It would be helpful to know what year Jeep you have. Somewhere around late ‘69 Kaiser (later AMC) started applying an additional vinyl serial sticker on the driver’s side dashboard. All CJ5’s up at least through from 1955 through 1975 had an embossed metal serial tag on the driver’s firewall in the “s/n” location in post #5
