Cowl is the final piece needing stripping!

    Couple holes to patch.

I told y’all to stop cutting holes in Jeeps.

I’m really tired of this grinding but I should probably just finish this now.

The ugliest jeep is now stripped to bare metal and in primer.

Anyone interested in a HD brush guard?

I’ve been saving this piece for Cynthia and she did work on it for a couple hours today. There was plenty of ugliness left for me to spend another couple hours on. I have it 95% ready for painting. The ugly black camo job was very difficult to get out of all the tight spots.

Sandblasting would have been worth the cost.

    The $19 Harbor Freight gun.
The finish is a bit more textured than I would have liked.

It’s really just a couple dozen bolts to make it look like a Jeep. There’s still a lot of work to make it drivable.

Next up is fuel. PO had a noisy electric pump attached to the frame right under the driver seat. I’m going back to a stock pump. First thing is to get a return fuel line plumbed in.

Pipe thread fitting tapped into the sending unit.

Seems like this should work fine.

Worked on electric fuel pump delete tonight. I had a spare 3 line pump left from before my first jeep went TBI. So we’re going with that for now.

I used some of the existing line for the feed to the pump and made a new line to go up to carb. Got the return line mostly done but need some additional 1/4” hose and a couple fittings.

I also figured out how I will do the rear bumper, but no real work on that.

Ok. I’ll run back out to the garage and get one photo…

Little brace to stiffen the line and yes, I put a slight kink in the top. :censored:
