Putting in a new electronic distributor.
My past set up was a 12volt coil with a resistor before the coil.
I had a solenoid supply 12 volt at start time between resistor and coil for a hot start,
My new coil has a built in resistor
Is there any way to by pass for a hot(12volt) to coil for start upstart up?
Also will the new electronic dist handle the direct 12volt to coil , will it damage the unit?

You may need to contact the maker or seller of your electronic distributor. We have no idea of what brand you are going to use, or even what engine this applies to.

    This is all it shows
Nothing about bypassing resister built in coil for a hot start

I think the short answer is no, you cannot bypass an internally resisted coil.

Put a jumper across the resistor and leave it in place. Your coil has a built in resistor and the distributor does not care what it triggers.
You end up with 12v from the relay and 12v from ignition. Similar to pertronics ignition.

Yes, though if you bypass the ballast resistor, just make sure the coil has an internal resistance of 3 ohms, and is not a 1.5 ohm coil designed to work with a (1.5 ohm +/-) ballast resistor.

This is the coil I use with a bypassed ballast resistor, which has worked very well:

AFAIK there isn't any way to bypass a built-in internal resistor in a coil.

Can you just try to set it all up as it’s designed and see if you still need to bypass the resistor? You may find out it works without having to bypass the resistor?

If you have a 3-ohm coil, it can and should be bypassed to receive full spark to the spark plugs. The ballast varied{regulated} the voltage the
coil received as it heated and cooled. What coil do you have? If you are not sure or can't test what he coil is, then leave wiring as is.

The 1966 V 6 I used for parts had a ballast resistor built into the wiring harness, I hooked it up straight thru, and used a internal resistor coil on my F 134. The V 6 did just what you are saying, started on 12 volt and then ran through the resistor on 6 volt.
