Could someone please give me the torque setting for the nut on a 2 piece axle Dana 44. I have a repair manual but have looked for it for a couple of hours today and cannot locate it in my disaster of a shop. I just installed 11" brakes and need to know. Thanks.

and don't back off the nut if the cotter pin doesn't line up. advance it to the next slot if one isn't lined up after it's torqued.

I know where you put your shop manual. It’s in that spot where any fool can find it…just as soon as the immediate need has passed. I put things there all the time.

And be sure you don't put the key in ahead of the hub. Put the hub on axle, align key slots, then tap in the key. Doing this in the wrong order will split the hub.
