Anyone have a dealer they like working with for Interco tires? We don't have many 4x4 shops around here, mostly ones that sell ground effects and neon crap.

I'm looking for someone that is easy to deal with , and has fair prices on some Swampers.... Idears?

How about a trip to Wheeling?
Although I've never bought tires from them, I've bought other things at very good prices (including a Lockright)

    National Tire and Wheel
    431 Lane A
    Wheeling, WV 26003
    800-847-3287

Or pick up any 4x4 rag...

Thanks for the tip Lynn, I could prolly save a bundle on shipping since Wheeling is < 1 hour from me.

After seeing Billy's Jeep with the 34x9 Super Swampers, I've been thinking about going the same route. Only problem is, I can't do a 2.5" lift AND go 34's because I'll never get the Jeep in/out of the garage.
I'm thinking about either 31/32 x 9 Swampers on 7-inch rims, and keeping the stock rims to put some NDT's on.

I was very surprised at Tellico that the 31x10.5 "sissy tires" I have on the Jeep now didn't hit more than they did. No clearance issues at all up front, other than on the leaf springs at full lock. The rears did rub in the wheelhouses, but then so did Billy's. We're both riunning stock-offset rims, so I'm thinking that the 15x7's will have a little more offset to help keep the insides from rubbing when crossed up.

You could still run the 34x9.50s...
Mount them on different wheels. Install or remove them in the driveway only when you're headed out to some trails... Swampers are soft, no sense wearing down expensive tires like that if you can swap them out as needed...

I thought about that Lynn, but I came to the conclusion that I'm really only going to put something like 1,000 miles a year on the Jeep if I'm lucky. Once I realized that, and also realized how much I *really* like playing off-road with the Jeep, I decided to forgo the A/Ts and go for the swampers. Call me crazy, but that's where I'm heading.

Nothing like going from one tire extreme to the other... :D

Yeah, been noodlin' that idear too. Prolly the best choice would be a nice set of M/Ts, but the swampers have it all over the M/Ts in terms of the coolness factor. Besides, it's not like I'm looking for quiet or ride comfort in an 80" wheelbase flattie with 5.38s and a flathead!

The size you had looked good on them, how come not staying with same size just in swampers? You going to power steering too? Oh yeah, look here?

Thanks for the complement! Well I proved that the 31x10.50s can be done without a lift, but I really just fell in love with the "pizza-cutter" look. Oh, and I'm going to a manual saginaw setup ASAP. I thought about going to power while I'm at it, but I want it to still handle like a Jeep. That and the fact that I'd have to get pretty creative to fab up a set of brackets in order to get a PS pump to bolt up to a flathead....

I liked the super swamper SX (35") I had on mine 4 years ago. They were too big for it. I would go with 33's today.

I have run both the 34x950 bias and 33x1050 radials .The radials ride and drive better on a daily use but the bias 34's hook up way better off road and are better on snow and ice plus they have a1/4" more tread.

Thanks loads guys. Just like I thought, NTW is less than an hour from my house, and their prices are pretty competitive. That and the fact that I'll save over $100 in shipping by jettign down there to pick them up. Now all I gotta do is raise the jing and I've got a plan! Gotta decide between the 32s and the 34s now. Decisions, decisions..... :)
