I am in the process of mounting a Koenig half hardtop to my 1956 CJ5. The first step in the instructions available online is to mount the Door Post to the outside edge of the windshield frame and secure it using existing "matching holes" in the windshield frame. The top of the Door Post then helps to establish the final height of the metal top.
While my Door Post pieces have two holes drilled in them, my windshield frame does not, although looking at pics of other CJ5's indicates that they do. It is likely my windshield frame is a reproduction and did not come with existing bolts in these locations.
The first picture shows the Door Post loosely attached to the windshield frame. I am hoping someone who has the two bolts in their windshield frame can provide me with the distance from the extreme bottom of the frame where it sits on the rubber gasket, shown in the second photo, to the lower of the two holes, as shown in the last photo. bracket.jpg mp.jpg with tape.jpg
    Thanks.

Thanks for the prompt response guys, and in particular to Ron for sharing the fact that there are already holes in the upper hinge bracket. I'll drill a pilot hole at the measurement provided by jeep 2003 and see what I find. Ron, do you know the size of the two bolts that screw into the upper hinge bracket?

    Thanks again.

    They should be 5/16-18.
