Does any one know which carburetor goes on a 304 v8 cj5 73. I am pretty sure when I removed mine years ago it was a 2150. I read that it should be a 2100. Does it matter which one I put back on. Is one better than the other

They are very similar I think. Probably either one would work. Look at mikes carb on u tube. He has some video's that explain the difference between the two. I think the 2150 is just a little later version of the same carb if I remember correctly. I cannot say which one would be on your 73. The difference would probably be some minor changes in maybe the choke setup and or the power power valve being a two stage rather than a single stage. Mostly changes associated with changes in pollution laws from year to year. Probably your key to deciding will be weather you want to be compliant exactly with your year model pollution requirements. This is just as best as I can remember, someone else maybe can add to or correct my comments.

Should have been a 2100, but I believe either will do.

    Be sure to:
Inspect the base. The Ford carbs came with two versions. Both will bolt on, but the later one was flat in the back and will create a vacuum leak.

Should be a 1.08 for the 304. The larger ones will work, but not as well.

Could you elaborate a little on what this is. Is it the venturi size? I could use a little carb education. thanks

Venturi size. Stamped on the drivers side.
    You'd think I could find a picture :(

Is your jeep a california model or 49 state, if memory serves there are differences between the two, emission standards. My 72 304 has a 2100 carb, and I would prefer that over the 2150 as they are more prone to running much leaner mixture for the later model years. Emission standards for 72-73 were the same so they would be interchangable, Good luck
