Hello, I’m building a new frame for an intermediate (1975) CJ5 and I need a rear crossmember. I’d prefer to fabricate my own, but I don’t have an original to pull dimensions from. If someone could measure an original and send the specs it would be immensely appreciated!

I have a bare frame in the shed. I’ll get a measurement and photo in a bit.

Jon, thank you so much! That’s exactly what I needed. If I could ask for one more favor, could you measure the thickness of the top flange of the crossmember? I mean the width of the surface that the body mounts sit on.

Also I remember that there’s a spot in the middle where the crossmember narrows slightly. What’s the width of that area?

    OK…

Yes, the center is ‘shallower’ than the outsides, measuring just under 3”. Let’s call it 2-15/16”.

That portion is 12.5” wide where it begins, and is 10.5” at the ‘bottom’. It’s centered in the member.

The flange is 1.5” wide on the top; the bottom also.
