I just got a new bikini top. I never had one installed on the Jeep before. Does anyone know the best spot to put the footman loops in the back?

Mine are at the middle of the curve of the back of the tub.

I've got each of my mounts on the back of the tub, just a few inches to the left and right of the tail gate. I drilled straight down into the rolled lip on top the tub so the loop is pointing up. You want both straps on the top to be running more or less parallel to the length of the jeep. So when you tighten it, you get even tension across the width of the strap.

i put the footman loops on the wheel well, about 1/2 way between the roll bar and the rear of the tub.

That wheelwell idea sounds good. Nothing to scrape/ get caught on outside. Nothing to get in the way of the hardtop mounting. I think I'll try that.

I had a local boat cover company make mine with snaps to keep it on the roll cage instead of the windshield. It snaps to the roll cage with the same type of snaps as the top, all the way around (it wraps down to about the middle, or just below center top-to-bottom of the tube), no tie-offs at all, just 3 snaps per side. I never take it off, as the top fits right over it. The air space between the two actually keeps the jeep cooler on those hot, rainy days when the sun comes out but it's still too wet to take the top off. I recently destroyed it at Attica on the rocks so I'll be having another one made. Good timing, because I just re-did the roll cage to allow for shoulder harnesses for the baby seats in the back.
