Has anyone ever seen a clutch release rod that looks like this? It’s from my 1966 cj5 with the Dauntless v6. Only see round stock being used in Internet searches.
The length from center to center is 8 1/2” (from cotter pin hole to cotter pin hole)
    I haven’t seen a replacement this length!

    Hey Roy,

Here's one that's 8-7/8" center to center, only 3/8" longer than your current linkage rod....maybe it would work if your clutch cable can be tightened up accordingly?

Alternatively, you might consider making a new improved 8-1/2" linkage using a 5/16"-24 threaded rod and heim joints. I did this with my clutch linkage, and it operates noticeably more smoothly than it did in the stock configuration:

X2 on the heim joints. I’ve had the best luck using the ones with a hole fit a bolt rather than the ones with the stud, but either is way better than the round rod with bent ends. I haven’t found an aftermarket round rod/bent ends that has been tempered so it doesn’t wear out in very short order. The originals were tempered/hardened and took a long time to wear.
Heims are just a better way to go.
