Spartan Turn Signal Switch Wiring Diagram?

Anyone have a wiring diagram for a Spartan turn signal switch specifically for the 1973 cj5 model?

This is from my notes when I restored the Spartan in my '69.

Colors of wires on the Spartan (and they match the colors of the original Jeep wiring harness)

• Brown - Incoming from the brake light switch(s)
• Orange - Right rear turn/brake lamp
• Blue - Left rear turn/brake lamp
• White - "L" terminal on Flasher
• Yellow - Left front turn lamp
• Black (from Spartan switch) - Right front turn lamp
• Black (from Spartan indicator bulb) - "P" terminal on Flasher.
• The flasher itself needs an ignition-on source to the "X" terminal
• It is also wise to run a ground wire from the indicator bulb screw in the Spartan and ground it under the dash. That way you don't need to remove paint from the column for the Spartan to have a ground.

 

What's in the '73 TSM? You should own the TSM if you don't have it.
I don't have the book for that year specifically but the '75 should be pretty much the same.



Even if the colors are not exactly the same, the wire locations in the plug should be the same.

I've never seen an Intermediate Jeep with a bulb in the turn signal housing. Just redundant to the lights in the cluster.

Very few changes from '73 to '74, and the '74 TSM is on the Tom Collins site, free to read and download. However, you should purchase the '73 TSM. Chump change for what benefits it can provide.

 

i'll be looking for the 73 tsm. My switch is in very bad shape on the inside unfortunately . I may try to find a old signal stat 500 and retro fit it. Hate like heck to get rid of the spartan. But Im in the middle of the wiring harness retro fit and need to keep going on it.
