I came into possession of a vented split pane front windshield. Can anyone tell me what these came on and any leads for seals and rebuild parts. I definitely have to "restore" it before it goes on my CJ6 project.

Had one on my '58. Other than t98 and overdrive, it was fairly stock/unmolested. Can't testify that it was on the jeep when it left the factory. I did get a seal from Debella's. Otherwise didn't have to do anything to it.

Do you know if the dimensions are the same on the inner frame on the Cj3 style split frames as it is on the later CJ5 style?

    CJ3 is narrower.

An option AFAIK, and more likely in hot or dusty destinations.

Some sources say that the vented frames were for “export” Jeeps, but there are far too many that surface for that to be the case. I’m sure they could be supplied from dealers back in the day (1960’s). Aside from buying a whole new frame from DeBella’s, I think only a new gasket shows up as available every now and then. Parts for these are scarce.
M38a-1 Jeeps have a 2-piece windshield, but these are not generally vented frames. The glass in an M38a-1 frame should not fit (larger) a vented civilian frame.

Yes, but many of the hardware items were common to other M-vehicles.

Really cool if you can restore it. They were also made for 3B's, I believe mostly for the M606 military variant. I have been working on getting a 3B one locally, but I may have to buy the whole jeep to get it. If Debella still has the rubber, I think the hard part is the inner frame, if it's damaged. The hardware looks common to other MV's.

I believe that Pete DeBella also has NOS vented frames for the 3B, just pricy.

Right, yeah, just a little too much for an option.

I'll post some pictures of it and progress as well once I get back home.
