I was told by the seller that this was original to the 1963 CJ5 it was on. I have never seen one before and wonder if his claim is accurate or imagined? (He was not the original owner but said it was a barn find and the seller told him that.) Anyway, any thoughts, ideas, etc.?

    Thanks,

    Eric

Not stock, it's an add-on brake booster, might be a later model Bendix Hydrovac. These have been discussed here before, try a search. Only work on single circuit brake systems and really only help much if you have the stock 9" brakes, but given those constraints they do help nicely. :)

I think these boosters were dealer added. I’ve seen several over the years, mounted in different locations.
