    Anyone know, What year did the spider gear spline count change from ten spline? Dana 44 offset early CJ5 Thanks in advance!

    The side gears changed from 10 to 19 spline around 1960.

    If it's like other changes that Jeep made, they just started changing when the new parts came in. Seems as long as the customer would not see the difference between old and new, they would just make the change. There is not necessarily a distinct year-boundary.

    The change officially happened at s/n's 43842/43843 for CJ5's, 11870/11871 for the 6's and 33147/33148 for 3B's.

    This really doesn't mean much as jeeps swap parts around like bacteria swap DNA.



    Sort of disgusting actually o_O


    Unless you're into that sort of thing :watch:

    OK Howard, how about the FC's wagons and pickups? I think all the wide tread FC 150's have 19 spline but were the narrow tread 10 or 19?
