I’ve been lurking on the forum and adding a limiter for the dauntless motor mounts is mentioned. I see the gm kit from the 60’s and hot rodders, but anyone care to share a pic how they did it in a cj?

    Also ran across this post:

“”””Napa auto parts sells a rubber isolated motor mount for the odd-fire V6 that has interlocking steel members to prevent complete separation if the rubber fails. Ask for mounts for a '76 Buick Skylark with the 231 V6. Napa doesn't list the mounts for Jeep CJ5 with the V6 in their computerized inventory system.
Make sure you get a left and right side, they are not the same. Some vendors will try and tell you they are the same but they are slightly different. “”””

Would these mounts provide a mechanical limit comparable to the chain or only catastrophic mount failure? If these are a solution I’ll put these in the next money sacrifice ceremony, I mean parts purchase.

Those should work. The right and left side mounts have a slightly different offset. They should be marked. When you think about how long Buick used the engine compared to the few years Jeep did it is no surprise to me that Napa, or other FLAPS, don't list the mount for a CJ5.

    Catastrophic failure only.

In that case, does anyone have a picture of how they installed the chains(I’m thinking cables as I would think actual chains would rattle)
