This weekend was full of work on the CJ. I got the new front leaf springs on as well as the new shock plates and hardware. I then quickly realized how bad the alignment was and tried to fix it enough to limp it down the road for an alignment. But one thing that I have been meaning to do that finally got completed was cleaning up the hubs. They were caked in mud and grease and painted white (kind of). See the before and after pictures below:

Gave the drums a nice coat of black paint as well. The cleanup trick for me on the hubs was WD-40 Industrial Strength Degreaser along with a brass wire wheel on a cordless drill. It worked great and made quick work of it, including the old paint.

Now the plan is to take these old M2 Warn Hubs off and rebuild them to get them working as right now they are in a bind in "Free".

Oh well, on to the next project. At least we are at the point now where the Jeep tells me what it wants fixed next haha!

Gives me hope that mine will eventually work out. A bit behind you but hubs coming off soon for brake checks and cleanup. I also have the same Warn M2 hub refurb on the horizon but I know I can move one from lock to free, the other seems stuck, probably from age and lack of motion!
