AFAIK apart from a piece of chrome trim they're the same part.

Hi gang! When installing aftermarket AC, this slanted cowl needs to be addressed, so I learned on the Bronco forum. Yes, they're helpful from time to time! lol

First thing was to fab this little piece~ it's just tacked in for now.

The top larger piece, I'll make it removable suggested by some to access the top of the evaporator and ease the installation.

I have some weld on 1/4" nut things, but need to order some short allen nuts. The lower triangular piece will be permanent. I've double flanged it so at least it's kind of flush.

Any ideas how to put ridges in the panel?

I'm not through, just taking a break for today;)

Always amazing to see progress on someone else's project, especially someone who makes the rate of progress you do. Looks great. All of my projects have been on hold throughout January as Lady Shadetree and I recovered from mild cases of Covid and it's lingering tiredness. Haven't had Whataburger for over 30 years. Going to have to try it again when I get to Oklahoma.

Time to get a Harbor Freight Bead Roller?

Thank you! I hope you're both getting over the darned C19 quickly! I think I we may have had it a while back, I still have a very pestering cough! I was looking at HF, but didn't see a bead roller:( I'm sure the whataburgers haven't changed in 30 years, when I was younger, I really loved their corndogs!!!

If you're not super picky, you can do it with a bench vice, and a couple pieces of angle iron.

But I can be "mostly picky"? My idea was to take a socket and beat it into the metal! lol But I'd hate to mess this up; I'd just soon leave it flat and call it a day, but then a side of me can't leave well enough alone!!

Well, yes, given the quality of your output, my method, while it works, probably wouldn't meet your standards =P

Amazes me how long it takes to do some things like this! I used a piece of wood, gouged a slot and made a guide and hammered in a ridge. I'll work on it some more, but it's getting there. I spent time also welding in weld nuts as the top piece will be removable to access the evaporator lines. I have more weld nuts coming and more appropriate screws;)
But it was nice day here on earth!;):bananatool:

I'm having one of those days with little energy, but I did a little bit; it took me a little searching to find something the correct size of "round" to cover a hole! you know, looking for that perfect circle? I used an old headlight bezel, though wasn't perfect, did the job. I love my plasma cutter;)

It's not perfect, but I have some cleaning up to do on welds too, seam seal, something, but no hurry. Might have made a decent recessed speaker hole;) nah
