I believe this may be a GM foot pedal type Parking brake in my '75 CJ5 . The TSM says nothing about it.
Anyhow , does any one have a reference or Idea & a how to, on what I can install as an indicator / warning light / chime ?
Drove up to 70 MPH last week with it depressed , for about 5 minutes .:banghead:

    You realize it's original equipment?

My '82 J20 has a similar style pedal, with a warning light. Something similar could be adapted.

No Tim, I did not realize that 'till you told me. Thank you . I'll look around the ' 82 - ' 84 era. That makes sense , for my rig.

Release cable is wrong, and the Weatherpac connector is a replacement. Otherwise factory.

Looks like your pedal has been replaced with something from a different application.

Virtually all brake assemblies after the late 50's utilized a brake warning light. These use an interrupted switch (much like a dome light switch) that held open by the pedal until depressed. When the pedal is depressed, the switch closes, causing the light circuit to ground, turning on the dash light.
This means that somewhere on the assembly should be a hole or mount to accept the switch.
    Two options:
Find the stock switch and install it, or drill/weld a tab and install an automotive switch (pick one).
If there is confusion on which one or how it was mounted, you can use a motorcycle style brake switch. A pull style switch that can be connected to the pedal chassis and a small spring attached to the pedal. They come in a stock or "universal" form. This switch doesn't need to be mounted in a place that comes in contact with the pedal, so you have some flexibility in mounting locations and configuration.

My CJ has a brake warning light that detects a failure in the dual braking system. There is no provision for a "parking brake on" light. It is not connected to the parking brake. My '82 J20 uses the same light for "parking brake on" and brake failure.

I'd also say that my Jeep would not move if the parking brake was set. Not sure a warning light would help much.

Sorry my reply took so long.....
Without knowing what year it is, I would guess something like this:
This is a 71 GM pickup assembly, I'm sure some further google searching will bring up a better result.

    No Sir, but Thank you.
It is the switch I posted above. My Parking brake is out of a '84 Buick GN. Got the switch for about $6 & installed it this weekend. Found the single wire to the dash light tucked up & away. It's all good now. Thanks, again to everyone. Check.
