Another piece of the puzzle showed up today!
The Aviaid T/A road race oil pan with external pickup. The only thing better than this would be a full dry sump system.
Aviaid made the original pans for the Trans Am champion Penske Javelins driven by Mark Donohue.

Windage tray to prevent spinning oil with the 4" stroke crank.

The pickup box is equipped with 3 trap doors to allow oil in and prevent starvation on high gforce corners.

After over a year of waiting the headers and exhaust system came in!
Headers are of course dogleg port, 1-7/8", 304 stainless and made by American Racing Headers. The mufflers are their proprietary design, "pure thunder series", I am excited to hear them!

The merge collectors have cones to help with back drafting.

This is why FB marketplace is so terrible.
With the current 390 engine in the car dead and the new 443 engine still in line at the builders, I was casually looking for a temporary replacement engine.
Randomly an AMC 343 popped up a couple weeks back.
The engine is claimed to be rebuilt and I have seen a video of it running.
Sadly it was pulled from a running/driving car for a LS/6L80E swap. :(
The car is owned by the shop owners daughter who runs a very reputable SF Bay area hot rod shop.
The price was right and it came with plenty of extra goodies to re sell.
I still have no idea when I will install the engine..... maybe after the Tahoe project is finished.
