this has gone very far beyond what i expected. the tranny and transfer case have been thoroughly rebuilt, but a new pilot bushing is needed and the flywheel needs resurfaced.

question: do any IH flywheels fit on an F134? this flywheel is marked IH.

EDIT: to clarify, those hubs have been on there as long as i can figure out (i know its history from about '90)

this is a project of little importance in comparison to the others, so nothing much has happened. hopefully we can get the S10 buttoned up within the week and get started on finishing this. a lotta things have been happening, not a ton of time to work on the jeep. this thread is getting VERY BORING, sorry.

Threads are kind of like that Mr. Vaughn, you surely have other priorities/obligations to attend to as well as an old jeep. Your build thread isn't boring~ it's a work in progress and we look forward to whatever you do accomplish. The journey is the fun and interesting, and challenging part;)

well, the last piece of the puzzle is being worked on. the flywheel has been dropped off at the machine shop for resurfacing, then it can all go back together!should get the flywheel by the end of the week, and get everything installed then.

honestly, i think a lot of my inactivity is due to my not being in school, because that was where i was on this site the most. i also have had to try to get my sisters S10 going (with the help of my dad) after the transmission went.

the next big milestone has been achieved! with everything re-installed, it drives! it seems a bit smoother than before, likely since it has oil in it now. i had to replace a front ujoint because i lost a few needle bearings, and couldn't seem to find them. guess that what i get for working in a driveway. the engine seems to be running a bit rough, and doesn't want to idle, which is the next big thing to tackle. after that, a new windshield (old one was fogging up and broke when i put it on - another of my stupid moves) and a mirror and a little electrical work (left rear blinker not working properly and brake lights nonexistant), it should be ready for the road! hopefully i'll be driving this thing to school in august.

This thing has continues performing well, though I'm beginning to notice some leaks coming from the transfer case. Thankfully, they're fairly minor, but still kind of annoying. I got our old rigs together for a glamor shot

Welcome to old jeep ownership, when it stops leaking, you know it's time to fill it up again!

since it isnt a factory restoration, maybe look into the Toyota starter option? its affordable and readily available at many flaps
