sm-420

im looking for a sm-420 reverse light for a 1968 sm420. does anybody know where i can get 1? mine has one there now but im afraid it does not work.

 

Reverse light? Indicator light or switch that activates the back up lights? I'm not sure what you mean.

 

the actual switch thatactivates the reverse lights sorry for the confusion. i've checked my local napa and they only have the switch for auto's not manuals for my year tranny.

 

I think it's a pretty standard thing, varying only in the way the terminals are laid out (the connector type). If you have the old one, ask them to pull a switch for a different Muncie. Good chance it's the same except for the connector.

 

I'm with Tim. Shouldn't be too hard to find a match. I thought 67 was the last year for the 420, 465 started in 68 on up. Not positive, just what I was told. Early 420's didn't have the switch for reverse lights.

 

67 was the last year but mine came from a 68 gmc k2500 with the rockwell t-case. left over i guess ok i will try and find a switch somewhere thanks.
