Auto Lite 12 Volt Generator

    I am looking for a 12 volt rebuild kit for a auto light generator. hoping some one can point me in the right direction.

    What sort of shape is the commutator in? If it's worn your best bet is to find an old-tymey auto electrical shop & have them do it.

    Boy Howard, I think they are all gone. There were two by me back in the day, They would Rebuild a Starter or Generator back to factory specs, not cheap but correct. I watched the guy replace the shaft in my generator because it was worn. He pressed it out of the armature and pressed a new one in, I didn't know you could do that, he knew what he was doing, Jim, where are you now? Good luck.

    This. In the old shack down behind the rail yard... :D

    These days you may need to locate a specialist from Hemmings Motor News or such. I got a starter rebuilt for my '34 Ford and it was a work of art.

    I just googled "vintage automotive generator rebuilder" and came up with a list of folks. I'm guessing any one of them could get you the parts you need.
