I re-bodied my CJ5 with a new MD Juan body and for the most part things have worked out pretty well. A little massaging here and there and its coming together. But a question came up. My old windshield frame was unvented, but the new windshield frame has 2 round vent holes cut in the back side. Does anyone know if there are louvered covers made for those, or some way to control airflow so the holes dont dump all of my defrost air into the passenger compartment? See pics attached. The holes are roughly 1.46" or 37MM

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it very much.

Bottom mount wipers? I so those are to access the linkage.

Nope. Top mount wipers. They are in the airflow chamber that feeds the defroster slits. The only thing I can think of is air vents for the occupants. But I dont know how to control the air without some sort of a louvered cover. My wife thinks we might just need to buy some nice Jeep magnets and control the air by moving those over the hole, or to the side. HAHA. Very manual but I guess it would work.

Those holes are for accessing the wiper linkage on 69+ Jeeps with the low mount wipers. The have plastic plugs in them from the factory. Here they are on my '69:

MD Jaun must punch them in all the windshields top or low mount wipers so they don't need two stampings. You can get replacement plugs from various sources. Here's some on ebay:

Note, the when the original heater is in "defrost" mode, it's still blowing warm air out the heater vents on the floor too. It's pulling a vacuum on both damper doors. When it's in heat mode, it's only putting a vacuum on the heater damper door.

Thank you very much. Now I understand. I just figured it must be for vent air, guess thats what I get for assuming. But it does make me wonder if I would find a small enough louvered vent. HAHA
