I'm finding more and more weird things on this 61 . Definitely slapped together and I really think there's a box or 3 of stuff that is missing...

Anyway in the future I'm planning to replace the missing pass seat tool box. The floor is in good shape and the seat tilts on these homemade brackets. After trying to get out my drivers seat , the bolt that holds the seat in is upside down or snapped off... looking at seat brackets mine do not look the same.?

Will my surface mount brackets work on the top of the tool box? Or do I need to find the long bar? This is just a weird tub fyi...

    Thanks
    Bob

Those brackets look like toolbox mounts. There seems to have been a few different mounts from castings that angle over the nose of the box to the ones you have.
I don't have a tool box and made something similar to the driver's side with some c brackets for seat pivots. Those blocks could use a backer under the tub if not done already to keep the floor from pulling if anything happens.

I just looked at your image again and you many want to take measurements before moving forward. Your seat cushion looks relatively thick and the blocks holding the brackets look shorter than the height of a normal tool box. So my concern is that when you install the tool box, your head may be above the windshield (this happened to me with thick cushioned seats installed by the PO).

my toolbox measures just under 5” from the floor of the Jeep.
