Update, Mandatory evac lifted, got home this evening after a long drive, picked up a jeep at my brothers, house and everything O.K. Still under an evac warning, but after talking to my oldest son who is on a shot crew right above us, I feel another evac is far fetched. Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts.

Yes, I decided to still attend the Camp Plymouth swap meet. A little fun before getting back to work. Here is Jay relaxing with Alice the puppy.

I took my little M274 mule to run around the swap meet in the campground in. Always a ton of stuff to buy, sell, trade.

Welcome home Tim! Been thinking about you through this whole event. Glad it worked out for Meyers the way it did, I’ve got many friends there who are all also grateful to go home. Huge thanks to your son and his brothers and sisters in the fire crews!!

Been thinking about the radiator situation, and while I was gone decided the solution is to take an inch out of the radiator support. Actually pretty simple.
Had to temporarily remove the support brackets, but I think this will work.
Of course, not that simple. I foresaw this, a little relief of the front crossmember is needed.
Set the grille and radiator back up there, and now a nice clearance, might even be able to go to a slightly thicker fan spacer to give the distributer more blade clearance.
Now I will go back and box everything.

This is going to be a messy day. The steering box that I swore I would not move is moving, because the shaft passes through the crossmember too high, and it will hit the lower radiator tank. Out comes the hot wrench and the old mount is gone.
This is the Advance Adapters saginaw mount that I have used through the years. I got a new one, since the old one is in a puddle on the floor.
Clamped it up there, and it actually sits right where I need to go, about halfway in the lower edge of the crossmember.
I set a laser, sighting down the center of the shaft. I removed the box, and I have a centerline ready to drill.
I clamped up a tubing notcher for the half in, half out hole. You can see the laser, sort of.
    Started drilling, works pretty well.
And it's through, I had to trim the inner core a few times with the plasma, because of the depth.
A piece of 2" DOM slides right into place. I wanted to do this before boxing the crossmember so I can weld the inside.

The old hole that I patched is visible, now I can get to welding.
Tacked the box in place, installed the spud shaft that extends through the crossmember, and started welding, inside and out. Also made a bracket to hold the rod end that supports the end of the spud shaft.
Fabbed a piece of 2" angle to fill the crossmember relief. Burned it in. This firms up the whole thing.
Installed the radiator and grille, ended up with a 3/4" fan spacer. It will have to come out one more time for paint, but I want hear it run first.

A little after work job. Partdude lower hose. Sam has these very correct hoses made, and it fits perfectly.
Also got some badging and air cleaner sticker from Sam. I will clean up the air cleaner and install this for a vintage touch.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but your ‘67 looks great. What kind of springs are you running on it?

Thanks. It's darn near a member of the family. Was my daily driver in the 80's, Rubicon rig in the 90's, now just light duty camping. The springs are Rancho 2" lift. I bought as a kit with the Con-Ferr shackles and shocks probably about 1992. I think I took one short leaf out to settle it down a bit.

Bob, here's one more of Lucy (came from lefty-loosey). About 1993, Walker Hill, Rubicon. I had 7.50-16's and a 3 speed.

I picked up these Waggy front shock mounts, they will give me a little more travel. I hole sawed a drain hole near the bottom to keep from filling up with mud.
I'm thinking right about here, centered over the axle. This gives me about 20" eye to eye at rest.
Before I final-weld in the steering box mount I discovered I can't get the box out without removing the winch, which is no good. So with a little re-design of the winch mounting system I'm good to go. Of course I had to unmount winch, then dummy up the old Dad-Built bumper to make sure everything works. I am going to trim the ends of the bumper, as they will hit the tires, and they just don't look right.
    There, much better.

Wanting to enjoy one of the last nice fall work outside comfortably days, I welded the bobbed ends of Dad's "hell for stout" bumper. Gave it a quick coat of black.
I also had body mounts to deal with. This is the one I have to replace when the old floor went away. I also did the 4 across the rear crossmember.
Such a nice afternoon, and I had the Giants game number 162 on, I had to do the welding table BBQ lunch.
I bolted up the bumper, to hold everything in place, (not shown), then final welded the PS box mount. This thing isn't going anywhere.

Want to get the front end back together today. Unfortunately, it will be a day of work, with nothing huge visually to show, but part of getting the darn thing done. Head down, continue on. First, reinstalled the box, had to use one allen head bolt, but it fits on the new mount. It's a squeaker next to the winch, but fits. The winch has been shortened previously by us, about 1-1/2" taken out of the drum and shaft, which accounts for about 50' less fishing line.
The newly bobbed bumper in place. This ties everything together, and is built to pull hard with the Ramsey, if needed.
Next, I moved to hydraulic lines. The ram assist came with 2 new lines, that go from the ported box to the ram. Which led to planned routing, keeping out of harm's way. That led to centering of the steering, and the ram, and setting toe-in.
I clamped a straight edge to the rotor for toe-in, then tightened all tie rod ends, pitman arm, drag link. Coming together.

Yeah, I might need an intervention. Just bought this for no real good reason, other than completeness. And look, I got a dipstick.
